When Your Company Is Hacked, Who Gets the 3AM Call?

Cybersecurity and data intrustions have dominated business headlines this year, ranging from the rise of ransomware to international hacking of US political parties. Unfortunately, Yahoo, Inc., which sees more than 1 billion monthly users, has now notched the largest reported hack of a single company's computer network, while bringing new focus to privacy and security questions ranging from data breach notification responsibilities to core security practices.

The already-ailing technology company is now facing multiple class actions. The details of the breach in which information from over 500 million accounts were stolen in 2014 first surfaced on Sept. 22, raising user outrage, privacy watchdog questions, law enforcement and government investigations, and cybersecurity concerns across all data-driven industries.
